Description
This was part of my uncle’s collection dating back to the 50’s and was well cared for. There are many replicas for cheap out there but the details of face, hands are not of the same quality as these originals. (See last photo) The handpainted portion of the glazed regions are also more garish in color rather than muted tones as seen on these vintage pieces. This is handmade and handpainted so no two will be identical.
Mud-men's figures were called such because they are made from mudbank clay and the faces and hands are always left unglazed and therefore are the color of mud. Measures 8”x4.5”x3.5” at tallest and widest
Comparable ones more expensive elsewhere (see last photo)
