Description
SHADOWBOX BODY ARMOR (IEYASU TOKUGAWA). It can be said that body armor was practical piece of art, protecting the body from attacks while lavishly decorating it using lacquer, ironmongery, leather, etc. High ranking warriors had distinct body armors as display of their beliefs, goals and faith. Ieyasu Tokugawa is the first shogun of the Tokugawa family which succeeded in peaceful rein of unified Japan for over 250 years from 1603 to 1867 known as the Edo Era. The lines produced by paper craft are delicately depicting the body armor in a simple yet dignifying way.
By just connecting the panels with connecting pieces, a plain sheet of paper turns into a dimensional shadowbox.
